The human body, according to Vedic knowledge, is similar to the universe. Our bodies, as well as the entire material world - - consist of five elements (pancha mahabhuta in Sanskrit). These elements are Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether (or Space).
Stay and Reconnect with Elements
Earth element
When the Earth element is in balance, the human body is strong and strong, speech is straight and firm, and it radiates tranquillity and confidence, such a person is well arranged in the material world. If the Earth's element is in abundance, confidence turns into stubbornness, firmness into conservatism, tranquillity into inertia, and laziness. The lack of the element manifests itself in inattention, restlessness, rapid excitability and fatigue, and lack of stable work and income.
To harmonize the Earth, you need discipline (body, speech, mind) and following your word. Physical labor, exercises with the physical body, and work on the ground (picking berries, flowers, planting plants, etc.) also balance the Earth well.
The perfect state of the Earth element is the experience of "single taste", pure perception without assessments and judgments when the reality is seen as it is without the prism of subjective, social, etc. assessments and concepts. The Earth is the mother of all living beings, of which there are many, but it accepts everyone with love and care, without making distinctions.
Water
Let's talk more about the second of the five primary elements (pancha mahabhuta) that make up the structure of nature - Water.
The Water Element (ap) is the most important component of the human body. Its properties are fluidity, the ability to take any form, to combine into a single whole. A person whose element of Water is in harmony has the flexibility of body and mind, smooth movements, smooth skin, and good complexion. For yoga practitioners, even at the initial levels, such "beauty from the inside" is an attractive and easily achievable task
Our internal organs are subject to the Water element. If the Earth element begins to dominate them, it causes heaviness, density, and stagnation. To keep the inner body healthy, it is necessary to maintain the balance of the Water element
The balance of the Water element gives flexibility, fluidity, smoothness, to both the body, its lines and outlines, as well as speech and movements, and thinking. A person with a pronounced element of Water is artistic, soft, kind, knows how to let go, and, like water that fills any form, adapts to any conditions. When the water is abundant, the human body becomes loose, the muscles are sluggish. Such a person is dependent on someone else's opinion, overly emotional, tends to spend life in idleness, and has no core, so it is easy to be inclined to someone else's side. The lack of the Water element is manifested in a constant feeling of tension, an inability to relax and let go of yourself, and excessive self-obsession.
Harmonisations of the Water element contribute to the development of artistry and creativity, flexibility and plasticity, humility and acceptance, the ability to sacrifice and give up a sense of self-importance. The perfection of the element is manifested in a state of bliss and joy of being, which, like a full-flowing river, spreads over the body, reviving and filling all its cells.
Fire
When the element of Fire is in balance, a person is full of enthusiasm and strength to act and realize his plans, he is passionate and assertive, and he is a leader leading him. He's passionate and eager to live. When the Fire is in abundance, a person becomes unnecessarily hot-tempered, assertive, and aggressive, irritated by trifles, tends to be impatient in everything, and establishes his truth with his sword. His fire begins to burn him from the inside.
The lack of the element entails a loss of interest in everything, lethargy, and passivity, a person gets cold everywhere, suffers from depression, and a loss of meaning in life.
To harmonize the element of Fire, soothing methods are needed in case of excess (contemplation of candle flame, fire, work on the ground, balancing pranayama) and warming procedures in case of lack (active pranayama, aerobic loads, food with spices). And the main thing is the development of tolerance and a kind attitude towards others.
The perfect state of the element of Fire is the distinguishing wisdom (viveka). As in the light of the torch, all objects in the dark become visible, so a person becomes able to see the truth, to distinguish white from black, good from pleasure, external from internal, not to evaluate and label - this is something, and this is another - and in each situation to see the true state of affairs. And, as a result, clarity comes.
Air
Harmonious Air makes a person fast, decisive and resourceful. Such an individual has a mobile and smart mind, sociability, liveliness, thirst for new impressions, knowledge and discoveries. When there is too much air, a person becomes impatient and fussy, he cannot sit still and focus on one thing. He is constantly carried from one state to another, from one emotion to another. On the contrary, lack of air entails inertia, and inactivity. Such a person is hard to climb and difficult to change.
Discipline and concentration contribute to the balance of the Air element. Since any conditions and expectations stop the flow of energy for which the Air element is responsible, the purification and increase of this element is facilitated by actions without waiting for results, selfless help and unconditional love.
When the element of Air is perfect, a person masters the art of intention and the ability to realize his plans. The air is a mediator, it transfers objects from one place to another, thoughts and feelings from one person to another. Thus, when the element of Air in the body becomes identical to the Primary Element and all its qualities, a person becomes able to transfer images of internal reality to the outside world.
Ether
When the Earth element is in balance, the human body is strong and strong, speech is straight and firm, it radiates tranquillity and confidence, such a person is well arranged in the material world. If the Earth's element is in abundance, confidence turns into stubbornness, firmness into conservatism, tranquillity into inertia and laziness. The lack of the element manifests itself in inattention, restlessness, rapid excitability and fatigue, lack of stable work and income.
To harmonise the Earth, you need discipline (body, speech, mind) and following your word. Physical labour, exercises with the physical body, work on the ground (picking berries, flowers, planting plants, etc.) also balance the Earth well.
The perfect state of the Earth element is the experience of "single taste", pure perception without assessments and judgements, when reality is seen as it is without the prism of subjective, social, etc. assessments and concepts. The Earth is the mother of all living beings, of which there are many, but it accepts everyone with love and care, without making distinctions.
